WHAT TO DO WHEN SELF-DOUBT & OVERWHELM CREEP INTO YOUR ENTREPRENEURIAL ADVENTURE?

WHAT TO DO WHEN THE DAYS OF SELF-DOUBT & OVERWHELM CREEP IN AS AN ENTREPRENEUR

First off let me just say having these feelings are completely normal. Before you started this adventure you probably had a boss telling you what to do, how to do it, and where to be which can be awesome and/or awful. Not anymore Dorothy, this ain't Kansas and no one's telling you what to do or which path to take, it's all up to you which can be awesome and yet awful. lol So let me again repeat... this is normal my love.

I've been an entrepreneur now for over a decade and like all boss babes, I have days of doubt, confusion, feelings of stress, and overwhelm too. Days where I don't feel like I have a clue as to what I'm doing. Days, where I want to just give up and go, get "a real job", even though the thought of that sounds even worse than toughing it out lol. These days are far and few between now but they still happen even after all this time! When days like this come up for you, especially in the beginning here are some things I recommend you try on…

  1. Know your why: Meaning, know why you're doing what you do. This will help carry you through on the bad days. Think of the people you've helped, even one person you've helped make a difference for, this can be a great way to move through the muck. Read through testimonials of the people you've already served and remember all of the amazing things you want to do, have and create with this freedom you've created for yourself.

  2. Get inspired: Stop what you're doing and go do something that inspires you. Something that has nothing to do with your business. Go light yourself up like a Christmas tree doing something you love. When I'm lacking enthusiasm or excitement for what I'm doing I go take time to get inspired.

  3. Get out into the world: Meet a friend for coffee, go for a walk, go, volunteer, etc. Getting out of your head and back into your heart can help shift things around. I know for myself that when I'm in the fear and doubt it means I'm only focused on me, getting outside of yourself and helping others can help me get out of my funk!

  4. Get a soul tribe: Call on your tribe for support. Having at least 1 or 2 people who can remind you of who you are is critical! Having people who are on a similar path and know what you're going through can help you avoid going too far down the rabbit hole of self-doubt as well. Finding networking groups or meetups for people of like-mindedness can help give you a support system... The key is reaching out to them when you're actually needing support! lol Don't be afraid to ask for support when you're doing good or not doing so good... If you want real true meaningful connection, reach out for support when you're feeling vulnerable... not just when everything is awesome!

  5. Get a mentor or coach: Having someone who knows the path ahead can help keep you on track when you're going off course. Find someone whos been where you want to go, who's done what you are trying to do. They're there to help you gain clarity when you feel stuck and to help you see the forest between the trees.

  6. Don't Stop: Keep going and remember... this too shall pass.
